The Gift of Brokenness

Reading: Psalm 51:10-17; 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Devotional: Before the Magi opened their treasures, they fell down. Before any gold hit the ground, their knees did. This reveals a profound truth: God treasures our vulnerability more than our victories. Earthly kings demand flattery and pretense, but the true King invites us to fall down and come clean. The gold He desires most is the raw, unrefined, broken parts of ourselves we try to hide. Shame tells us to clean up before coming to Jesus, but Scripture reveals the opposite: "A broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise." He doesn't just tolerate your mess—He reaches for it first. Your weakness is not a disqualification; it's an invitation. Stop hiding what God wants to redeem. The weary you, the failing you, the "I messed up again" you—that's the you Jesus loves most.

Reflection Question: What brokenness am I hiding that God wants to redeem?
