God's Heart for the One

Scripture Reading
  • Luke 15:1–7 — The Parable of the Lost Sheep
  • Ezekiel 34:11–16

“Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.” — Luke 15:6

Devotional
Jesus intentionally tells a story that feels inefficient. Ninety‑nine are safe — yet the Shepherd leaves them to search for one.

This reveals something essential about God: He is not driven by crowds, but by compassion.

The lost sheep is not labeled rebellious or stubborn — simply lost. And the Shepherd takes responsibility for the search.

As we begin this fast, God is inviting us to recalibrate our vision. The mission of the church has never been about maintaining what we already have — it has always been about pursuing those who are not yet here.

One matters. One is worth the search. One is worth the sacrifice.

Before we pray for growth, we pray for God’s heart.

Prayer Focus
  • Ask God to align your heart with His compassion for the lost
  • Repent of any comfort‑driven Christianity
  • Pray that Life Church would see people the way Jesus sees them
  • Pray for divine sensitivity to the one God is drawing

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, give us Your eyes. Restore the weight of one soul in our hearts. Let us never value comfort over calling.

Day 1 Declaration
We declare that our hearts will reflect the heart of the Shepherd.
We will not overlook the one for our sake or the sake of the many.
We choose compassion over comfort and obedience over convenience.
One soul matters to God — and one soul matters to us.
