Dying Like Jesus

Dying Like Jesus

Reading: Acts 7:57-60

Devotional:
Stephen's final moments reveal the ultimate mark of Christlikeness. As stones struck his body, he prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit" and "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." These weren't just similar to Jesus' words from the cross—they were the fruit of a life transformed by Jesus. Stephen didn't just die for Christ; he died like Christ. This is the testimony that cannot be silenced: a faith so real it transforms how we suffer, how we forgive, and how we face death itself. The Sanhedrin thought they ended the story by killing Stephen, but they only turned the page.

His death scattered believers, spreading the gospel further. His witness inspired countless others, including a young man named Saul who watched.  You may never face martyrdom, but you will face opposition. When that moment comes, will you respond with Christlike grace and forgiveness? That's an unstoppable witness.
