The Pattern of Rejection

The Pattern of Rejection

Reading: Acts 7:9-16, 23-29 (Joseph and Moses rejected)

Devotional:
Stephen revealed a sobering pattern: God sends deliverers, but His people reject them—at first. Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery. Moses was refused with the question, "Who made you ruler and judge?" Yet both became God's instruments of salvation. Stephen wasn't just recounting history; he was confronting the council with their own pattern of rejecting God's chosen ones. The same pattern culminated in their rejection of Jesus.

Here's the encouraging truth: man's rejection never cancels God's purpose. Joseph was rejected but became the savior of his family. Moses was rejected but led Israel to freedom. Jesus was rejected but became the Savior of the world. If you're facing rejection for your faith today, remember you're in good company. God's delays are not His denials. His purpose for your life remains unchanged, and He will accomplish it.
