Why Are You Still Standing Here?

Why Are You Still Standing Here?

Reading: Acts 1:9-11

Devotional:
When Jesus ascended, the disciples stood transfixed, gazing upward until heaven itself interrupted their staring. The angels' question echoes across centuries: "Why are you still standing here?" This wasn't encouragement—it was divine disruption.

You can have perfect theology and a paralyzed life. You can witness resurrection and remain AWOL on mission. The danger isn't misunderstanding; it's immobility despite understanding. Jesus didn't ascend so we could endlessly contemplate His departure; He left so His presence could fill all places through His body, the church.

Looking up should only serve the purpose of moving out. A church that only stares at the sky ignores the street. Faith began when physical proof left their sight—now it required movement. What are you gazing at that keeps you from going? Break your fixation and embrace your assignment.
