When the Fire Comes
Reading: Acts 8:1-3
Devotional: The fire of persecution did not arrive with a warning. It came on the very day the early church was still mourning Stephen. Grief and pressure arrived together, which is often how suffering works in real life. Yet Luke records these events without panic, without suggesting that God's plan was interrupted.
The fire you did not see coming is not outside of God's awareness. He sees what you cannot see from inside the flames. The blow that knocks you off your feet does not knock God off His throne. Stand in the truth that He is never surprised by what surprises you.
